In the year 1996, when Sri Dwarkadhish Mandir was constructed, as per the desire of our beloved Guru P.P. Leelatai Karve, it was decided that there should be a Dhyan Mandir located in the temple premises. Accordingly, the ground floor of the temple was dedicated for the cause of a Dhyan Mandir to facilitate the devotees to sit and do dhyandharana in
the pious and peaceful atmosphere. So as per Her desire a Dhyan Mandir was designed at the ground floor level considering the age, abilities of the devotees who wish to do dhyandharana in the most peaceful atmosphere. While making the design of a Dhyan Mandir, the difficulties of the devotees of various ages and their physical constraints were considered and we provided three options for the devotees.
- Those who have knee problem and can not sit on the floor, can use the parapit provided in this unique design for sitting.
- Those who can sit on the floor but have back problem, can make the use of the parapit for back support and
- Those who don’t have any problem in sitting on the floor, can make use of the centre area of the Dhyan Mandir. On inauguration of the Dhyan Mandir, the devotees were happy to see the design of the Dhyan Mandir wherein the custom built arrangements have been made considering the problem of even senior citizens. The dhyandharana and prayers are taking place in the Dhyan Mandir premises on regular basis.
In 2003, our beloved Guru P.P. Leelatai Karve attained permanent place at the feet of Lord Krishna. Considering Her urge for collective prayers and dhyandharana, we decided to convert the Dhyan Mandir into Her Holy Samadhi Mandir and name it as Sri Leela Samadhi Mandir. Accordingly, Her ashes, personal belongings and various religious books are placed beneath the plinth level of Her proposed Samadhi, by chanting and reciting of various shlokas and ruchas from Vedas. After one year, beautiful padukas carved in lotus shape out of a huge black stone are installed on 1st May 2004. Today, a lot of devotees experience positive vibrations and peace while doing dhyan in Samadhi Mandir.
